Summer Skin

Summer is fast approaching! How you look after your skin now, dictates how it will look this summer. Summer proof your skin, this means following basic skincare tips like drinking enough water, applying body butter after a shower or bath, and using SPF. Check out our quarantine regime article for more information.

Drinking enough water so you are hydrated ensures your skin cells can be plump and healthy. Dehydrated skin cells mean they lack moisture so they are less elastic which can result in dull and itchy skin; so commit to your daily water goal!

It’s important to soak up all the vitamin D you can from the sun as we rarely get it here in England, but good SPF is also essential during the summer to prevent photodamage and protect our skin. Jojoba oil, coconut oil, mango butter and shea butter all contain natural SPF; these are all ingredients in our body butter. You should use it and top up with your usual SPF, enhancing the skin-caring benefits and protect against photoaging. Our body butter is also high in antioxidants such as vitamin C, E and F so it prevents and helps protect from forms of environmental damage and oxidative stress such as pollution. This is great for the summer months when you’re out more (hopefully after lockdown!).

Summer is the best time to invest in a high-quality, rich body moisturiser. We know quite a lot of people are prone to getting rashes and blemishes during summer months, so it is important to continue applying body butter daily to prevent those ill effects and keep your skin radiant. Continued use of our body butter means you’ll never have to see your dry skin again, your skin will retain its oils and moisture. The best accessory to any outfit is healthy and glowing skin. Don’t be afraid to flaunt your gorgeous skin this summer!
